Script Development
Building off of their relationship developing Origen, Ryan collaborated with Anderson to shape and develop the script of I Want You To Hit Me With Your Car before and during the rehearsal process. He performed a modified Kugler analysis on the early, base draft, and continued to provide draft notes and thoughts on potential structural and content changes as the show's rehearsal process began to help shape the development of the text.
Dramaturgical Casebook
Ryan created an online dramaturgical casebook for I Want You To Hit Me With Your Car. The site took the place of a traditional "actor packet," and was intended to be used by the cast as research support. The casebook can be found here.
Program Note
Ryan wrote a program note for I Want You To Hit Me With Your Car, which can be found below. A comedy about boy bands, high and low art, and how fandom affects our brains, the note was intended to prepare the audience for the comedic tone of the piece, as well as to introduce the idea of social media interaction between young fans and the musicians they love. It can be found below.
