fünf Tassen
fünf Tassen is a dance piece inspired by the work of Pina Bausch and Tanztheater Wuppertal. It was created as the final project for the course "Directing I: Sources" at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, taught by Jed Allen Harris. It received a public performance in May 2016 in the Checco Studio A in Carnegie Mellon's Purnell Center for the Arts.
It was described in the program as such:
Pina Bausch was a German dancer and choreographer, and founder of the world-renowned Tanztheater Wuppertal. She is known for combining the worlds of dance and theatre, to create a totally unique movement style that captures the essence of both art forms. Pina created her pieces in collaboration with her dancers, striving to find a way to express in movement feelings and stories specific to the group, yet inherent to the human experience.
In this piece, we are examining what one’s daily routine truly means. As we prepare for our day, what do we do and feel, and how does that affect us?
The company was as follows:
Co-Creator/Co-Director/Co-Choreographer: Ryan Dumas
Co-Creator/Co-Director/Co-Choreographer: Kayla Stokes
Performer: Patrick Davis
Performer: Caroline Mixon
